Legacy Migration

Infinite 36

Infinite 36 provides a complete migration solution for System/36 applications.

Infinite 36 is a family of toolsets that are bundled with services designed to migrate RPG and COBOL applications to Windows, Linux or UNIX A(HP-UX, AIX and Solaris). The Infinite 36 family consists of compilers for RPG and COBOL that recompile the System/36 SSP-based source code to the target platform. Once recompiled using Infinite 36 compilers, new native 64-bit object code is deployed via the Infinite Deployment environment. This environment provides a replication of the System/36 platform. The utilities, OCL, queries, etc from the original System 36 environment will be fully useable. The complete migration usually takes several weeks. That time frame includes external file definitions, database deployment and Cloud-based execution.

The Infinite 36 family of products is not a set of translations tools. There are translation products that generate Java or .NET code from the original RPG or COBOL. The reason we don't translate is because the only way to ensure that the code is fully functional is to maintain source code integrity. Once migrated, it is still RPG or COBOL and it can still be maintained as it was before but on the new platform.

Infinite Corporation has performed thousands of successful AS/400 migrations since its founding. We co-developed the first IBM Midrange migration toolset with IBM for the System/32 and released BABY/32 in the early 1980's. Since that time, Infinite has developed and released many successful products and services packages designed to migrate AS/400 and System/36 -based applications written in RPG and COBOL.

Our goal is to provide the easiest, fastest, least cost and lowest risk method for migrating IBM Midrange applications to a 21st century environment.
