Infinite Corporation has been a Red Hat partner since 2004. The relationship began because several proprietary UNIX clients wanted to move to Open Source and felt that Red Hat was the right partner. Turned out they were right. Infinite has expanded its practice of migrating IBM Midrange applications to Linux to include migrating Legacy UNIX applications on HP-UX, AIX and Solaris to Red Hat running Linux Virtualization and Middleware tools with Red Hat.
Red Hat has three business segments:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) The operating system that has become the 21st century standard for data center efficiency.
- Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) The virtualization toolset that is tightly integrated with RHEL and JBoss middleware. This is the fastest growing virtualization toolset globally because it provides quicker throughput, is easier to use and less expensive than VMWare.
- JBoss middleware from Red Hat brings reality and tangibility to businesses working on Middle Tier deployment using tools like WebSphere and WebLogic.
While JBoss is very powerful, its genius is its simplicity. Plan one project with an actual deliverable, make a fast and simple change in one interface from an API to a web service and allow updates to be made to third parties via those web services in a few hours. Now you have real value for a fraction of the price.
Infinite became a VMware partner in 2009. The company has become committed to providing its products and services in virtualized environments. Since that time, Infinite has implemented thousands of VMware installations worldwide. The obvious benefits of virtualization from higher resource allocation to integrated High Availability have become an endemic part of Infinite's strategy.
