Infinite Wins 7 Figure AS/400 Migration Contract with Major European Bank
Infinite Corporation, a global IT integrator, has announced today that it has been awarded a 7 figure contract with a major Spanish bank to migrate RPG applications written in RPG to the Linux operating system and the Oracle database. The system manages several mission critical functions for the bank.
“Once the system is migrated from the bank’s iOS environment
to Linux and Oracle, we will integrate the applications with four other
applications in the Bank’s enterprise. These include mainframe applications and others on the Microsoft and AIX
platforms," said Raquela Kaplan, Director of Marketing, Infinite Corporation.
“In this migration, there over 1200 programs and over 6
million lines of code. We estimate
that the migration will be completed and tested in early May of this year," continued Kaplan.
Infinite has developed a family of products designed to
migrate AS/400-based applications to Windows, Linux and UNIX. Last year, Infinite released its latest
generation of migration tools, named Infinite i and Infinite 36. Infinite i is a family of products that
migrate and deploy RPG and COBOL applications from the IBM System i (AS/400) environment
to Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R 2 and Red Hat’s Enterprise Linux Version 6.1.
The latest release of Infinite i provides functionality that
cannot be achieved using the IBM i OS environment. The product family will allow RPG and COBOL
applications to be migrated to 64-bit Windows or Linux. The database layer can be deployed to either
MS SQL 2010 or Oracle 11g. The UI layer of the environment will be executed in
a Cloud-based structure.
This technology is groundbreaking. In fact, we believe It is the most important
technology to be introduced for IBM i OS-based applications since the 1988
release of the AS/400 itself. The
Infinite i family provides a complete renaissance experience for business
critical logic based on the AS/400 operating platform.
