About the products

What does Infinite Corporation do?
Infinite Corporation has built tools for the IBM midrange since 1975 and now helps organizations modernize and move their IBM i (AS/400) applications to modern cloud platforms. The product suite spans the platform, interface, data, and developer layers: Infinite i (the core platform), and the Infinite Cloud, Infinite DataLink, and Infinite Studio add-ons.
Do I have to rewrite my RPG and COBOL applications to modernize?
No. Infinite i recompiles your unchanged RPG, COBOL, CL, and DDS source to native code that runs on Linux. Your business logic is preserved exactly, which removes the single biggest risk of a traditional rewrite.
What is the difference between Infinite i and the add-ons?
Infinite i is the core platform that moves your applications off IBM Power to native Linux. The add-ons extend it: Infinite Cloud modernizes the interface, Infinite DataLink migrates your DB2/400 data to MySQL, and Infinite Studio gives developers a modern IDE.
What does Infinite Cloud do?
Infinite Cloud automatically renders your IBM i 5250 green screens as modern web interfaces in any standard browser, with no rewrite and the same business logic underneath. Each rendered screen is also exposed as a REST/SOA service for integration.
Which database does Infinite DataLink migrate to?
Infinite DataLink migrates DB2 for i (DB2/400) data to MySQL, running on Amazon RDS or Aurora, Azure Database for MySQL, Google Cloud SQL, or self-managed MySQL. It preserves referential integrity, maps data types exactly, and converts EBCDIC data to Unicode.
Is Infinite Studio available yet?
Infinite Studio is in private beta, with general availability planned for Q3 2026. It is a Visual Studio Code based IDE for RPG, ILE COBOL, CL, and DDS, with syntax highlighting, IntelliSense, Git, debugging, and AI assistance.

Migration and technical

How long does a typical migration take?
Engagements are typically completed in about 45 to 60 days. The exact duration depends mainly on the size of your application portfolio and the scope of testing.
Which clouds can I run on?
Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, or self-managed Linux on your own infrastructure. The technology is cloud-agnostic, so the choice is usually driven by your existing enterprise agreements.
Is this emulation, or does my code really run natively?
It is native, not emulation. Your source is recompiled to native x86 object code and runs as an ordinary Linux workload, with no Power emulation layer and no per-core Power license.
Will performance hold up after migration?
Performance is workload-dependent, and we recommend benchmarking your own workloads rather than relying on generic claims. Structurally, compiling to native object code on modern hardware favors the target environment.
Can I keep my data in-country for data-residency rules?
Yes. All three major clouds operate regions in many countries, so the migrated estate can remain on local soil to support data-residency requirements such as Brazil's LGPD.

Getting started and support

How much does it cost?
Migrations are delivered as a fixed-scope, fixed-price project rather than an open-ended program, and customers typically run at roughly half the cost of staying on IBM Power. We will give you a specific assessment after a free compatibility scan.
How do I get started?
Start with a free compatibility scan. Send us a representative screen, a sample of your DB2 schema, or a list of your RPG and COBOL sources, and we will return a migration assessment with a timeline and price at no cost.
How does customer support work after migration?
Customers can sign in to a support portal and chat with an assistant grounded in our knowledge base that can also look up and log tickets, and it brings in a human specialist whenever an issue needs one.
